This artwork is a cubic representation of Taj Mahal. Cubism was a revolutionary art movement invented by Picasso and Braque, where different views of an object was painted into the same picture. Here the artwork is composed to three main colors, manganese blue, cadmium red, and a third color obtained by the mixture of the above two. Blue here represents peace and beauty, while red represents blood and violence. The outside edges of the Mahal have blue, representing the beauty and serenity the monument emanates, while the inside edges, representing the unknown/lesser known side of the monument and the person who constructed it , is painted in red, representing the bloody history of conflict, violence and deaths that happed during the construction of the monument, as well as the violent actions of the King who reigned at the time. This inside part may not be wholly known to a person, however, the inside history records the happenings. It is strange but also true that the presence of both...
